As Purchasing Coordinator with the Facilities & Store Planning Team, at The North West Company (NWC), you will procure fixtures and equipment for all company banners. In your role you will obtain fixture quotes, place orders, perform material take offs, and assist with negotiations of all fixture procurement while adhering to budgetary requirements and guidelines.

Your Role:
- Obtain fixture and equipment quotes, take orders from stores, perform material take-offs, and assist with the preparation of all fixture procurement budgets;
- Collect and document requests for fixtures and equipment, including information regarding business unit issuing the requests;
- Communicate requirements to vendors, request quotes, and analyze pricing and proposals, place fixture orders;
- Maintain fixtures and equipment product catalogue;
- Coordinate merchandise accessories with Merchandise Planning team;
- Assist in the development and implementation of standards and specifications for all fixtures and equipment;
- Maintain central ordering, procurement and Financial Authority database systems;
- Update data within the system, including information on: suppliers, fixture and equipment listings, cost specifications, shipping and distribution information;
- Track deliveries and costs for capital projects;
- Assess the performance of all fixtures and equipment; and
- Review and submit invoices to Accounts Payable department.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail fixture procurement, preferably in a retail environment;
- Post-secondary education or University degree in a related field is preferred, or a combination of education and experience;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude for negotiation, and building and maintaining business relationships both with internal customers and external vendors;
- Experience working with retail design, construction and facility management would be considered an asset;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to NWC standards and specifications;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Must be able to work independently, as well as support peers, and work in a team environment;
- Highly motivated with proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills; and
- Proficient with AutoCAD considered an asset.
